General Description:

Provides engineering support to manufacturing processes, projects, and functions. Assists with evaluating manufacturing performance and supports continuous improvement and cost‑efficiency initiatives. Supports New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and the introduction of new equipment and processes. Helps develop, implement, and improve manufacturing methods, operational sequences, and processes for the fabrication and assembly of parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final products.

Essential Functions:

  • Sustain existing manufacturing processes, specifically the maintenance of manufacturing fixtures.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Leverages lean principles to improve manufacturing safety, ergonomics, quality, delivery lead times, and cost through the elimination of waste in the value stream.
  • Helps lead engineering projects and tracks project progress, presents periodic status updates to supervisor, project teams, anticipates obstacles, and works to resolve them.
  • Designs, builds, and/or purchases fixtures, equipment, and tools as needed to increase efficiency, safety and ensure quality products at minimal costs.
  • Responsible for initiating, reviewing, documenting and approving Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s)
  • Collaborates with other engineers to analyze manufacturing/assembly issues and identify, test, and implement the most effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross functional team to transfer new products into production by identify assembly techniques, manufacturing processes and design recommendations as appropriate.
  • Will ensure manufacturing documentation and process validation are complete, accurate and within GMP compliance.
  • Works under some supervision.  With input, independently determines, develops, and applies solutions.  Exercises independent judgment about priority of tasking.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in engineering
  • 0+ years of experience

​​Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a hands on low to medium volume assembly environment preferred
  • Automation Experience
  • LabVIEW experience
  • CAD experience (CREO, SolidWorks)
  • Demonstrated mechanical/electrical problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
