The Financial Reporting team is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant external financial reporting, including SEC filings, investor materials, and statutory reporting. The team partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Investor Relations, and external auditors to ensure transparency, rigor, and alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.

About the Role

The Manager, Financial Reporting oversees the day‑to‑day execution of Ventas’ external financial reporting processes, including SEC filings, audit support, and other public reporting requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the Company’s consolidated financial statements and related disclosures.

The position offers regular exposure to senior officers of the Company and requires a high degree of ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the preparation of all SEC filings containing quarterly, annual, and pro forma financial statements, including Forms 10‑Q, 10‑K, and 8‑K.
  • Oversee the preparation of all public reporting materials containing consolidated financial statements, including earnings releases, supplemental schedules, and investor presentations.
  • Manage annual financial statement audit requirements, including those related to joint venture arrangements and statutory reporting.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, managing audit timelines, deliverables, and issue resolution.
  • Oversee Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance procedures related to financial reporting processes and controls.
  • Design, document, and enhance financial reporting processes and procedures to meet audit standards and improve efficiency.
  • Review financial statement data and supporting materials provided to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Perform ad hoc technical accounting research and peer benchmarking on topics such as new SEC regulations, accounting standards, and transaction‑specific disclosures.
  • Oversee the preparation of OP Unit redemptions, fair value calculations, and dividend‑related reporting.
  • Support special projects and initiatives as they arise throughout the year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification
  • 5+ years of experience in financial reporting for a publicly traded company, public accounting, or a combination of both; real estate and/or REIT experience a plus
  • Must be located in the Chicago, IL or New York, NY surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
  • Willingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Proficiency with Workiva
  • Highly detail‑oriented, hands‑on, and collaborative, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to accommodate workload fluctuations around quarterly and annual reporting cycles
  • Willingness to travel on a quarterly basis to Chicago, IL during earnings and SEC filing periods
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 – $180,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and business needs.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
