Must-Have
- Knowledge of Installation, Administration and Troubleshooting of RHEL/SUSE Linux and various Installlation techniques
- Knowledge of NIS, LDAP, DNS and DHCP.
- Knowledged of server Hardware like Dell/Cisco/HP/IBM etc
- Knowledge of Kernel parametres and security policies, RBAC etc
- Knowledge of shell scripting (BASH/C), Python/Perl would be added.
- Knowledge of basic SAN/NAS/NFS storage management.
- Strong knowledge of RHEL/SLES OS Administration and commands.
- Strong knowledge in OS Patching (SMT/Yast/2upgrade/SCC) etc.
- Knowledged of Step/Online migration for various OS versions .
- Working within the Oracle/RDBMS/RMAN/DB on day to day basis.
- Excellent knowledge of FS/Log/Kernel Management
- Thorough knowledge of VMware concept (Vcenter/ESXi) etc
- Basic knowledge of Automation tools like Ansible, puppet etc.
- Translate technical issues into understandable business language for end-users
- **Exposure to Cloud computing is great to have but not a must.
service levels are achieved in Data Centre.
Good-to-Have
- Must be able to create and modify day to day scripts.
- Must be able to manage VMware environment as and when required.
- Must know to create solution for different issues as required and also to build servers from scratch (VM/Physical blades/RM Blades)
- Managing and installing Third party softwares/tools and scheduling automated jobs as per the customer requirement.
- Creating automated jobs and scripts to ensure seamless operations.
- Must be able to work on SEV1/ SEV2 issue calls for fixing the issue related to Unix/Storage/RHEL/SUSE related issue.
- Knowledge of Incident Management & Change Management.
- Knowledge of Maintaining & Respecting Internal & External SLA.
- Handling Complex IT/Business/Customer issues, major incidents & manage multiple priorities with Flexibility, integrity and creative problem-solving skills.
- Perform trend analysis, identify top incidents and work with the respective teams/ client to minimise the alerts as well as counts.
- Perform RCA for Critical incidents related to the servers and follow security process defined for the engagement.
