Labour Economist
To strengthen its portfolio of work in the girl capital domain, IPEGlobal is hiring a Labour Economist for a project that seeks to increasewomens participation in skill training and economic opportunities byeffectively addressing barriers and promoting women-led development across thecountry through data and evidence-driven strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based labour market analysis and policy advice to strengthen womens labour force participation, improve skilling-to-employment linkages, and enhance convergence across skilling, employment and labour market programmes.
- Support with stakeholder coordination at the national and state level with relevant ministries, state departments and industries.
- Conduct targeted labour market and sectoral analysis to identify growth sectors, barriers for women, and actionable pathways to employment.
- Strengthen monitoring, data systems, and dashboards to track womens employment outcomes.
- Support the design of gender-responsive policies, incentive and recognition frameworks, and employer-facing toolkits.
As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the specialist may berequired to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above keyresponsibilities as determined by the Senior leadership.
Qualification Experience:
Educational Background
Postgraduate degree in Labour Economics, Economics, DevelopmentEconomics, Public Policy, or a related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant professional experience in labour markets, employmentpolicy, gender and inclusion, or social protection.
Demonstrated experience working with government ministries, preferably at the nationallevel.
Strong understanding of Indias labour market, skilling ecosystem, and women-centricemployment initiatives.
Technical Expertise:
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience using labour market dataand administrative datasets.
Provenability to translate evidence into actionable policy recommendations.
Experiencewith monitoring systems, dashboards, and results frameworks.
Excellentcoordination, stakeholder management, and inter-governmental engagement skills.
