Role Summary

The Head of Americas Regional Distribution Center Operations is responsible for leading a multi-site distribution network across the Americas, driving operational excellence, safety, and strategic transformation in alignment with Resmed’s global supply chain strategy.

This role owns the end-to-end fulfillment strategy and execution across the region, ensuring scalable, efficient, and high-performing operations. A critical component of this leadership position is the oversight and execution of Commissioning, Validation, and Start-Up (CVS) activities for new and expanding sites, ensuring operational readiness, system integrity, and seamless transition to steady-state operations.

The leader will champion a strong safety-first culture, embed continuous improvement through a structured productivity pipeline, and optimize network performance through advanced warehouse design, automation, and strategic 3PL partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Network Execution

  • Define and execute the Americas distribution and logistics strategy, aligned to Resmed’s global supply chain and business priorities.

  • Lead a complex, multi-site distribution network, ensuring consistent performance, governance, and adoption of standard ways of working across all facilities.

  • Develop and execute short-, mid-, and long-term plans for network capacity, expansion, and optimization.

  • Own and lead Commissioning, Validation, and Start-Up (CVS) for new site launches, expansions, and major automation deployments, ensuring readiness across people, process, systems, and infrastructure.

  • Drive optimization of warehouse design, layout, and automation solutions (e.g., Swisslog), ensuring scalability, throughput, and cost efficiency.

Operational Excellence & Productivity

  • Establish and lead a robust, multi-year productivity pipeline across all sites, embedding Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement into daily operations.

  • Define and monitor KPIs across service, cost, quality, and delivery, ensuring disciplined execution and performance accountability.

  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities, improving flow, cycle time, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure operational stability post-CVS through structured ramp-up plans and performance tracking.

Safety & Culture

  • Champion and sustain a best-in-class safety culture, ensuring proactive risk identification, regulatory compliance, and achievement of top-quartile safety performance.

  • Embed safety accountability at all levels, with clear ownership, visibility, and continuous improvement of safety metrics.

  • Build and lead high-performing, engaged teams across multiple sites, fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, and operational excellence.

3PL & Carrier Strategy

  • Develop and execute regional strategies for 3PL partnerships and carrier networks, ensuring optimal service, cost, and flexibility.

  • Lead selection, contracting, and performance management of 3PL providers, including alignment to CVS activities for new site launches.

  • Optimize transportation strategies across inbound and outbound networks to support customer and business requirements.

Governance & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Establish strong governance frameworks to ensure alignment across operations, engineering, IT, and supply chain functions.

  • Lead structured operating rhythms, including executive updates on CVS progress, operational performance, and risk mitigation.

  • Ensure effective communication and alignment across sites and leadership teams.

  • Lead resolution of complex operational and start-up challenges, ensuring rapid and effective issue resolution.

Inventory, Systems & Quality

  • Provide strategic direction for inventory management across the network, balancing service levels and working capital efficiency.

  • Ensure robust WMS/ERP system implementation, validation, and optimization as part of CVS and ongoing operations.

  • Establish and sustain product traceability and quality systems to meet regulatory and customer requirements.

Talent & Organizational Leadership

  • Build organizational capability across the Americas network, including succession planning and leadership development.

  • Define organizational structures and capabilities required to support both steady-state operations and CVS execution.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team across multiple sites.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, logistics, or distribution operations, including management of multi-site regional networks.

  • Proven experience leading Commissioning, Validation, and Start-Up (CVS) activities for new facilities, automation systems, or major operational transformations.

  • Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

  • Deep expertise in warehouse design, automation, and distribution optimization.

  • Strong experience managing 3PL providers and carrier strategies in complex logistics environments.

  • Proven ability to lead large teams, develop talent, and drive cultural transformation across multiple locations.

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence cross-functional and senior stakeholders.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong knowledge of WMS and ERP systems (Oracle preferred; HighJump or similar WMS experience highly desirable).

  • Deep understanding of inventory management, transportation, and distribution best practices.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA and regulatory requirements in warehousing and logistics environments.
