Global Public Affairs Manager
Primary Function of Position
Intuitive’s Global Public Affairs (GPA) team focuses on enhancing the company’s
corporate reputation, mitigating reputational risk, as well as educating and engaging key
stakeholders on the company’s technology and value. The Taiwan branch office is
seeking a Public Affairs Manager to advance our mission in Taiwan.
The Public Affairs Manager will be primarily responsible for executing media relations,
government affairs, patient advocacy, and issues management activities in Taiwan. This
role reports directly to the Global Public Affairs Director in Taiwan and works closely with
cross-functional teams to develop and implement public affairs strategies that support
business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Media Relations
• Execute proactive and reactive media strategies for the Taiwan market in alignment with
the GPA Director’s guidance
• Serve as a media contact in Taiwan and manage media inquiries
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists
• Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, talking points, and other press
materials in Chinese and English; manage internal approval processes
• Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and other media activities
• Monitor and analyze media coverage; prepare regular reports for internal teams
• Collaborate with local PR agencies and global media relations counterparts in the
company
Patient Advocacy
• Assist in shaping and executing patient advocacy strategies tailored to Taiwan’s
healthcare environment
• Build and manage relationships with patient organizations, support groups, and healthcare
foundations
• Help and coordinate with internal stakeholders to create patient education materials and
resources
• Coordinate and amplify patient testimonial and success story programs
• Facilitate patient access initiatives in collaboration with key external stakeholders and
cross-functional teams
• Attend and represent Intuitive at patient advocacy events and relevant healthcare
Government Affairs
• Support and carry out in-country government affairs strategies aligned with business and
public policy objectives
• Coordinate outreach with government officials, legislators, and other types of policymakers
and policy influencers in the healthcare space
• Facilitate collaboration across third-party organizations (trade associations, surgical
societies, advocacy groups) for advocacy purposes
• Provide updates to leadership on policy and stakeholder developments
• Oversee external government affairs/public affairs consultants as needed
• Participate in industry associations to advance company policy and advocacy goals
Issues Management
• Track, assess, and escalate emerging issues and potential risks affecting Intuitive’s
reputation in Taiwan
• Support the development and execution of relevant communication plans and protocols
• Act as the initial point of contact for crisis communications in Taiwan; ensure swift,
accurate, and consistent messaging
• Assist in advising leadership and cross-functional teams on issue and crisis response
• Conduct post-crisis analyses and surface protocol refinements based on learnings

Required Skills and Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in public affairs, marketing communications, government
affairs, patient advocacy, or healthcare marketing, preferably in the medical device or
adjacent sector
• Proven track record in managing media relations, government affairs, and crisis/issues
management at a managerial level
• Strong understanding of Taiwan’s healthcare system, regulatory environment, and political
landscape
• Demonstrated experience in healthcare communications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin (traditional Chinese) and
English
• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically within Taiwan

This position may be filled at a different job level than listed here depending on
business need and/or on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge and skills.
Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the
candidate’s qualifications, consistent with applicable law.
