The ECO/NPD Buyer is responsible for supply chain execution in support of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and New Product Development (NPD) initiatives. This role ensures timely sourcing, cost accuracy, supplier readiness, and material availability to support product launches, design changes, and sustained production.
The ECO / NPD Buyer serves as the primary supply chain liaison between Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers throughout the lifecycle of new and changed products, from initial development through implementation and post launch stabilization.
What you’ll do
- Own supply chain execution for assigned ECOs and ECRs, ensuring accurate material setup, sourcing, pricing, and supplier readiness prior to implementation.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Planning to support ECO approval and implementation timelines.
- Support ECO implementation activities including item setup, supplier transitions, use up strategies, and effective dates.
What you’ll bring
- Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation.
- Working knowledge of ECO, ECR, and New Product Development processes.
- Extensive MS Office skills - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a high performing Purchasing, Materials or Supply Chain Professional.
- Supplier management background.
- Ability to operate well in a fast-paced environment with priorities that change daily.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Problem solving mindset.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, Supply Chain Management, Business Management
- 2 - 3 years of Supply Chain Planning Experience preferred.
- Experience supporting new product launches, engineering changes, or technical sourcing strongly preferred.
