Director / Team Lead, Integrated Medicine Sales Business Operations
ROLE SUMMARY
The Director, IM Sales BusinessOperationsis the single operational lead for the Integrated Medicine (IM) field organization within the PC United structure. This role provides end-to-end ownership of the operational infrastructure that enables both the East VP and West VP to execute national strategy consistently and efficiently across their respective geographies.
The selected candidate leads aconsolidatedteam of Operations Managers, each with SME accountability across a defined functional area– ensuringthat field operations, incentive compensation, meetings planning, field force administration, and compliance processes are delivered as one unified function, not duplicated regionally. This role reports to thePrimary Care Director of Strategy&Business Operationsand works in close partnership with both IM VPs as the day-to-day operational backbone of the IM organization.
This is an execution-focused leadership role. The Director ensures that operationally complex, high-impact programs are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance– providingboth VPs with the operational reliability needed to lead their regions without managing functionaldetail themselves.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operations Team Leadership
Lead and manage theconsolidatedIM Operations team, serving both East and West VPs through a single, integrated structure:
Directly manage a team of Senior Operations Managers, each with designated SME ownership per functional area (e.g., Incentive Compensation, Starter Operations, Speaker Operations,Meetings,Field Administration)
Each Operations ManagermaintainsaworkingrelationshipwithRBDs in both regions to ensure field-level operational continuity
Set clear accountabilities, performance expectations, and development goals for each team member
Ensure the teamoperatesas a shared service model–no duplication of operational functions by region
Provide day-to-day coaching, workload management, and prioritization guidance to direct reports
2. Incentive Compensation (IC) Administration
Own the end-to-end IC operational process for the IM field organization:
Manage IC plan build, administration, and execution in partnership with CFCD and Finance, ensuring plans are operationalized consistently across both geographies
Coordinate the semiannual IC review process with CFCD ahead of performance review periods, translating leadership decisions intoaccuratefield-facing plan mechanics
Ensure IC reporting and payout processes areaccurate,timely, and compliant
Serve as the primary operational point of contact for field IC queries, exception handling, and dispute resolution
Manage Award Trip planning, eligibility tracking, and executionlogisticson a national basis
3. Field Force Operations & Administration
Own the operational execution of field force structure changes and ongoing field administration:
Lead field organizational structure changes–alignments, territory re-designs, field force expansions, and vacancy management–as a single coordinated function across East and West
Coordinate with data science leads annually (and morefrequentlyduring transition periods) to ensure geographic designremainscurrent and is applied consistently
Manage field roster, credentialing, and system access processes in partnership with key stakeholders
Oversee Starter Operations: new hire onboardinglogistics, equipment, system set-up, and initial administrative readiness for incoming field colleagues
Manage Speaker Operations: speaker bureau administration, programlogistics, compliance tracking, and budget management in partnership with Medical, Legal, and Compliance
4. Meetings & Events Operations
Lead the operational planning and execution of national sales meetings, POAsand field events:
Own end-to-endlogisticsand operational delivery for POA/National Sales Meetings; national meetings are designed and executed as unified events–not separate East/West formats
Coordinate meetinglogisticsacross brand teams, legal, compliance, and external vendors, ensuring operational readiness, budget adherence, and compliance approvals
Manage all administrative and logistical workstreams for National Sales Meeting, including venue, travel, materials production, and on-site execution
Coordinate regional field meetings and events as required by both VPs,maintainingconsistent operational standards across geographies
5. Compliance, Governance & Process Management
Ensure operational processes are compliant, well-governed, and consistently applied across the IM organization:
Serve as the primary operational liaison with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Biopharma Operations on processes affecting IM field operations
Ensure all field operational activities–IC, speaker programs, meetings, field deployment–meet Pfizer compliance and governance standards
Maintain operational process documentation and standard operating procedures for the IM ops team; ensure processes are auditable and consistently followed
Track and report on operational milestones, project status, and issue resolution for both VPs; proactively flag risks to delivery timelines
6. Cross-Functional & Cross-BU Operational Coordination
Represent IM Sales operations in enterprise-wide operational forums and initiatives:
Participate in the U.S. Sales Excellence Council operational workstreams to align IM operational practices with enterprise-wide standards
Coordinate with cross-BU Commercial Operations leads on shared operational platforms, tools, and process improvements
Serve as the IM operational point of contact for enterprise-level programs including field system updates, CRM/digital tool deployments, and operational change management
Represent IM Sales operations on global operational initiatives and Executive Leadership Team projects asrequired
QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of experience in U.S. pharmaceutical sales operations, commercial operations, or like functions, withdemonstratedsuccess leading operational teams in complex matrix organizations
5+ years of direct people leadership experience; proven ability to lead and develop high-performing operations teams
Deepexpertisein pharmaceutical field operations: IC design and administration, field force deployment and alignment, meetings management, and speaker operations
Proven ability to manage and execute multiple concurrent operational workstreams with precision and strong attention to detail
Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance and governance requirements as they relate to field operations
Strong project and program management skills, including budget management and vendor oversight
Ability to lead through influence in a matrix organization; skilled at coordinating across Legal, Compliance, Finance, HR, and external partners
Proactive, autonomously operating self-starter with strong follow-through and a solutions-oriented approach
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to translate operational complexity into clear updates for senior sales leadership
