Community Relations Manager

As a Community Relations Manager, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the site’s community engagement strategy, in line with international social performance standards. You will establish and maintain sustainable relationships with local communities and key stakeholders. You will oversee community development programs, mediate with local actors, and provide regular reporting on the site’s social performance. Key Responsibilities : Define and deploy the site’s community engagement strategy in alignment with Group guidelines and international social performance standards; Establish, maintain, and strengthen sustainable and constructive relationships with local communities and key stakeholders; Manage community grievance mechanisms, monitor their implementation, and propose appropriate solutions; Design, implement, and monitor social and community development programs, ensuring their impact and sustainability; Serve as a mediator and prevent conflicts between the company, communities, and local stakeholders; Represent the site with local authorities, community leaders, and local organizations; Provide social and community reporting, including performance indicators and social risks, to management; Contribute to the identification and management of social and reputational risks of the site. Profile Skills : Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills; Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and emotional intelligence; Proven ability to manage sensitive situations and conflictual contexts; Good understanding of the local socio-cultural context and community dynamics; Proficiency in French; knowledge of local languages is a major asset; Ability to work on-site in a multicultural environment. Education Experience : Master’s degree (Bac +5) in Sociology, Community Development, Social Sciences, or equivalent; Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role (community relations, social performance, local development); Proven experience in rural areas, community projects, or industrial/mining sites highly preferred; Experience in projects with high social stakes is a plus.
