A strong AWS professional should have solid expertise in core AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, and Lambda, along with the ability to design secure, scalable, and costoptimized cloud architectures. Essential skills include handson experience with networking concepts like subnets, routing, load balancing, and security groups, as well as proficiency in IAM policy management and AWS security best practices. Knowledge of automation and DevOps tools—such as CloudFormation or Terraform for infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines using CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy—is highly valuable. A good understanding of monitoring and logging through CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config, as well as cost management using AWS Budgets and Cost Explorer, is also crucial. Additionally, familiarity with modern container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and serverless architectures helps ensure effective deployment, management, and optimization of cloud workloads.
