Associate - Architecture
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented innovative Architect, to join our team in our Building Engineering practice. As a key member of our Building Services team, you will be responsible for Execute, developing, and improving mechanical systems and products that meet our clients' needs and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have over 15 plus years of experience in project planning, preferably within the building and possess strong technical and leadership skills.
Job Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, and recommendations specific to data center projects, addressing unique requirements such as power density, cooling systems, and structural resilience.
- May manage various-sized groups of architects, designers, and/or specialists working on data center projects, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with project objectives.
- May lead modest-sized data center projects or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers on larger, more complex hyperscale or colocation data center programs.
- Work closely with design, engineering, and consulting teams across multiple locations to ensure effective communication and coordination for data center projects, particularly in addressing technical challenges such as redundancy, scalability, and energy efficiency.
- Implement advanced tools such as Revit, BIM 360, and digital collaboration platforms to deliver precise, efficient, and high-quality outcomes for data center projects, including clash detection and model-based coordination.
- Support the development and application of globais standards, design guides, and best practices specific to data center projects, ensuring consistency in design quality and operational performance.
- Promote design innovation and sustainability in data center projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and AECOM quality procedures while integrating energy efficiency (PUE optimization), water conservation (WUE), and renewable energy solutions.
Minimum Qualification
- Professional degree in Architecture (required) and 15+ yearsof progressive experience in architectural design, drafting, and construction documentation.
- Experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams and contributing to large-scale projects, and collaborating with other departments.
- Advanced English Proficiency (B2 - C1 level required), additional languages are an asset.
- Expert-level proficiency in design software such asRevit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and BIM tools.
- Strong knowledge of local and international building codes (IBC, NFPA, ADA) and permitting processes; familiarity with American and global standards.
- Ability to perform technical quality reviews and ensure deliverables meet established standards.
- Masters degree in Architecture or a related field is considered a plus.
- Experience in Data Centers or industrial facilities is considered a plus.
- Proven involvement in building projects within infrastructure environments is preferred
