In This Role
- Supervise and support shipping associates and leads on daily execution
- Reinforce strong attendance standards and workforce accountability
- Conduct start-of-shift meetings to align on priorities and daily goals
- Provide real-time coaching and performance feedback
- Step in operationally when needed to remove obstacles and keep the team on track
- Support daily load planning and scheduling to ensure efficient outbound flow
- Monitor shipment SLAs and ensure all orders depart on time and in full
- Validate load completion, accuracy, and proper documentation before release
- Oversee staging, scanning, and loading processes
- Ensure freight is properly secured, labeled, and handled with care to protect high-value merchandise
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and service
- Partner with Picking, Inventory Control, Quality, Sales Support, and Transportation teams to maintain smooth handoffs
- Provide support to other departments during volume spikes or operational bottlenecks
- Escalate and resolve issues that may impact pickups
- Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
- Ensure proper equipment usage and adherence to dock safety standards
- Assist in incident reporting and corrective action follow-up
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused shipping dock
- Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications

The Ideal Person
- 3+ years of warehouse or logistics experience (shipping leadership preferred)
- Experience in load planning, dock management, or transportation coordination
- Strong understanding of shipment SLAs and performance metrics
- Ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable
- Experience working with WMS systems, scanners, and shipping documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in furniture, home goods, or high-value product distribution
- Lean / continuous improvement exposure
- Forklift certification
- Experience managing KPIs such as on-time departure, load accuracy, damage rates, and productivity
