Eurocash SA is the largest food wholesaler and independent-grocery franchise operator in Poland, headquartered in Komorniki near Poznan and listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange under ticker EUR, employing roughly 21,000 people across more than 180 Cash&Carry hubs, the abc convenience network of around 9,000 stores, the Delikatesy Centrum supermarket franchise of around 1,300 stores, the Lewiatan partnership, and the Frisco.pl Warsaw e-grocery operation.
The company was founded in 1995 by Luis Amaral, a Portuguese entrepreneur who remains controlling shareholder through Politra BV with roughly a quarter of the equity and serves as President of the Management Board; the Polish-Portuguese dual identity sits at the centre of the company's culture.
