Youth Volunteer Leader Training Officer

Hato Hone St John offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic volunteer to contribute to and support leader and officer training within St John Youth Programme. Reporting to the National Leader Training Officer, you will play a key role in driving positive impact!
You will be expected to hold a minimum of Divisional Youth Leader appointment during your term as a portfolio officer and attend a minimum of three divisional nights each term. This fixed-term appointment will be for three years, with the opportunity to renew for an additional three-year term, if uncontested.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development and implementation of high-quality leader and officer training, including both face-to-face and online training
- Liaise with district leadership to ensure comprehensive training is successfully executed
- Work closely with other portfolio officers and the regional office to deliver training at regional-level events
- Ensure leader training resources are consistently maintained and updated
- Support ongoing professional development and promote excellence in leadership across the programme

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders to uphold high standards in leader training
- Subject matter expertise in leader training, demonstrating knowledge and experience in this area
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively convey complex issues both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application for St John in the community and healthcare environment will be advantageous; otherwise, a strong commitment and willingness to engage in training and education to develop in this area is essential
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, demonstrating flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude
- Commitment to St John Core Values, with a strong "can-do" attitude and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- A strong team player with commitment to contribute to the business planning, delivery and development
- Competency in Microsoft Office and a Level 2 First Aid certificate
- Previous St John Youth managerial knowledge / experience preferable
