Yard Team Lead

Saint-Hubert, QUEBEC, ca April 18, 2026 Full Time

The Yard Team Lead plays a critical role in the success of our yard operations, acting as the right hand to the Yard Supervisor and a key leader on the ground. This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll be actively involved in daily operations—operating equipment, supporting the team, and ensuring the yard runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

You’ll take ownership of day-to-day execution, help maintain high standards, and step in to lead when the Supervisor is unavailable. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy leading by example, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily yard operations on-site, ensuring workflow aligns with operational priorities and customer needs
  • Act as the primary point of contact in the Supervisor’s absence, maintaining continuity and decision-making on the floor
  • Work side-by-side with the team—operating forklifts and loaders daily while driving productivity and safety
  • Support and coach yard associates by reinforcing best practices in safety, equipment operation, and loading standards
  • Train new employees and ensure all team members understand and follow operational procedures
  • Monitor daily execution and proactively identify issues, bottlenecks, or risks, taking action to resolve them quickly
  • Communicate effectively with the Yard Supervisor, providing updates on performance, constraints, and opportunities for improvement
  • Help set clear daily expectations for the team and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately
  • Ensure proper staffing coverage across the yard and scale house, including breaks, absences, and peak periods
  • Maintain yard organization and inventory accuracy by following FIFO processes, supporting cycle counts, and preparing for inventory
  • Oversee pallet management, including sorting, storage, and coordination of repairs
  • Support performance management by identifying concerns related to safety, attendance, or productivity and assisting with corrective actions
  • Enforce all safety protocols, including PPE compliance and safe equipment operation
  • Provide operational coverage as needed, including scale house duties, forklift operation, and loader driving
  • Perform other related duties as required
