Uniting digitalization roadmaps, experience design, process optimization, application delivery, systems management, and technology modernization across some 170 products and services, the department links business ambition with operational excellence—from intuitive employee experiences and precision payroll to data-driven decision making, intelligent automation, and AI enablement. The Corporate Digital Backbone unit creates an autonomous digital backbone for the orchestration of data, transactions, processes, and insights across the diverse corporate portfolio, e.g. application modernization, technology debt reduction, efficient data exchange, advanced analytics, enterprise integration, automated business processes, and agentic-AI. Role Purpose: The Associate Senior Solutions Architect leads the execution of strategic business requirements by designing integrated, AI-ready technology solutions and guiding their implementation across software, data, and cloud infrastructure. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role synthesizes business, information, and technical perspectives to create scalable architectures aligned with enterprise principles. By evaluating functionality, constraints, and compatibility across platforms, it ensures interoperability, stability, usability, and high availability in distributed environments, enabling corporate application teams to deliver with greater velocity, quality, and efficiency. This role is central to the Corporate Application Delivery Optimization team, which optimizes corporate application development and developer productivity by mainstreaming modern development tools, application frameworks (including .NET, React, OutSystems, and Power Platform), cloud-native practices (Azure), DevOps, AI orchestration, and agile approaches to maximize velocity, quality, productivity, and efficiency. • Advanced Leadership: Performs advanced-level research and analysis in modern software engineering practices, overseeing complex projects or architectural processes with limited supervision. • Complex Problem Solving: Proposes robust technical solutions to moderately complex problems in cloud optimization, application modernization, and AI enablement. • Negotiation Alignment: Seeks common ground and negotiates architectural design issues with internal and/or external clients to recommend for higher-level approval. • Mentorship: Provides knowledge-based guidance, coaching, and training to engineering teams and more junior staff, serving as a key technical resource for other professionals. • Practical Application: Requires practical application of professional knowledge at a broad-based level to complete difficult technical assignments. Key Responsibilities: Solutions Architecture Development • Designs scalable, cloud-native architecture solutions that align with client needs, industry standards, and enterprise development goals. • Develops and maintains documentation for architecture designs, integration patterns, and platform standards to facilitate knowledge sharing across the organization. • Establishes architectural guardrails for both pro-code development and enterprise low-code/no-code platforms. Architecture Analysis Innovation • Evaluates emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks, particularly AI integrations, agentic workflows, and developer productivity tools, to enhance solution performance and reliability. • Produces and maintains high-quality architecture documentation, including design decisions, standards, and reusable patterns, to enable knowledge sharing and organizational consistency. • Executes architectural reviews, ensuring adherence to DevSecOps best practices and organizational modernization goals. • Helps monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation that reduce operational friction. • Partners with Agile teams to identify inconsistencies in architectural design and assist them with systemic enhancements. Stakeholder Engagement • Supports the communication of the organization’s solutions architecture vision to stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and Program Increment (PI) planning. • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into highly performant product specifications. • Actively supports Agile teams with the hands-on implementation of the architecture.
