Web UX Designer

We are looking to hire a talented Web UX Designer based in Katowice, Poland. Reporting to the Global MarCom Senior Web Technology Manager, this role is fundamentally a design-led position — responsible for crafting exceptional, user-centered digital experiences across ESAB's global web ecosystem and digital communications channels.

The ideal candidate is a skilled visual and UX designer with deep expertise in web and digital communication design, a compelling portfolio of real-world web projects, and enough front-end development knowledge to prototype effectively and collaborate fluently with development teams.

Primary Duties

Design (Core Focus)

·         Design user-centered web experiences using UX best practices, research, and data-driven insights — with a focus on websites and digital communications.

·         Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma as the primary design tool.

·         Design responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile web environments.

·         Define and champion design system standards, component libraries, and visual guidelines that ensure consistency across ESAB's global web properties.

·         Translate brand and marketing direction into polished, production-quality digital designs including landing pages, campaign assets, email templates, and web components.

·         Leverage user research, analytics, and usability testing to continuously optimize customer journeys and improve conversion.

·         Lead and support user testing initiatives, synthesizing findings into iterative design improvements.

Front-End Collaboration & Prototyping

·         Produce interactive, front-end-ready prototypes using HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript to validate design concepts and communicate intent to development teams.

·         Work closely with front-end and back-end developers to ensure faithful, performant implementation of designs.

·         Maintain working knowledge of modern frameworks (Vue, React) sufficient to collaborate effectively in a component-driven development environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

·         Partner closely with development, content, marketing, and digital strategy teams throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.

·         Articulate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

·         Relevant university degree in design, visual communication, human-computer interaction, or a related field.

·         7+ years of UX and visual design experience, with a portfolio focused on websites and digital communications — not mobile apps or product interfaces.

·         5+ years of front-end development experience, with demonstrated ability to prototype and collaborate effectively within a component-driven development environment.

·         Demonstrated ability to take projects from concept through to production-quality design deliverables.

·         Strong visual design sensibility, attention to detail, and typographic awareness.

·         Solid grounding in UX principles, information architecture, and usability best practices.

·         Experience facilitating or supporting user research and usability testing.

·         Experience designing within or for enterprise CMS platforms.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Technical Requirements

Design Tools (Required)

·         Advanced proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, auto-layout, components, and design systems.

·         Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite - particularly Photoshop and Illustrator - for digital asset production.

Front-End Knowledge (Supporting)

·         Solid understanding of HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript for prototyping and developer handoff.

·         Familiarity with modern frameworks such as Vue or React at a conceptual and collaboration level.

·         Familiarity with GitHub and collaborative version control workflows.

Nice to Have

·         Working knowledge of backend technologies such as PHP or ColdFusion.

·         Experience with web analytics or A/B testing tools (GA4, Hotjar, Optimizely, etc.).

·         Welding or industrial manufacturing industry experience is not required but considered a plus.

Working Conditions

·         Primarily office/hybrid environment operating standard computer equipment.

·         Domestic and international travel required (~10%).
