The Warehouse & Facilities Team Leader ensures efficient and safe inbound of goods receiving, product storage, replenishment of picking location (including Kardex) within the warehouse and outbound preparation for both domestic and international orders Additionally, the Team Leader ensures that the facility is well maintained by coordinating maintenance activities and documenting them accurately in the system.
Accountabilities:
1. Personal management:
- Contributes to create a safe and motivating work environment.
- Supervises staff on work execution, safety and planning.
- Ensures team members adhere to company policies and procedures, and takes appropriate action in case of misconduct or performance issues in line with disciplinary guidelines.
- Delivers and follows-up on staff training, especially for new employees.
- Manages leave requests.
- Conducts performance evaluations with warehouse operators at least four times per year to support development, provide feedback, and align on performance expectations.
2. Warehouse Operations:
- Ensures efficient and safe loading/unloading of all freight, both inbound and outbound, domestic and international, overseeing product flow.
- Ensures a correct level of goods in the picking location.
- Ensures safe, clean and maintained storage of pallets in the warehouse.
- Ensures the machines are properly used and maintained.
- Provides adequate storing of goods from incoming goods and provides adequate picking of bulk items for picking.
- Ensures and seeks for most efficient way of storing and picking together with other team leaders within the set boundaries.
- Has basic knowledge of the other team leaders’ specialties (Inbound, Outbound/Picking & Outbound/Packing).
- Is able to cover as back up other team leaders (during leave of absence or else).
- Organizes work and resources to perform in the best possible way the daily volumes.
- Observes the work schedules.
- Discusses with warehouse supervisor for best working schedule to be enforced.
- Meets operational deadlines related to the warehouse.
- Does meet and respects the productivity targets.
- Finds solutions to improve working experience in the warehouse.
- Responsible for physical inventories. To be replenished correctly and on time, to do regular quality checks on incoming goods, to make sure the quality of picking and packing is maintained or improved.
- Provides back-up to the Warehouse Supervisor when not present and acts as an interface between the warehouse and other departments.
- Complies with operational procedures (inbound storage and product transformation).
3. Facility responsibilities:
- Handling of maintenance tickets submitted by employees, the management of occasional maintenance or infrastructure issues, and the monitoring of the CMMS tool..
- On premise, point of contact for facility related matters.
- Improves operational efficiency in facilities utilization to meet internal customer needs.
- Collaborates with external companies for specialized repairs and monitor their interventions (including maintenance tickets).
- Integrates sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact.
- Encourages innovation to optimize the operation of the infrastructure.
- Supports Facilities Manager in the relationship with legal authorities and compliance follow-up.
- Daily management and follow-up of the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to manage facility matters.
- Assists in organizing of the curative, preventive and regulatory interventions as per the plan established and agreed between the facilities manager and the warehouse supervisor..
- Daily maintenance management of the machine fleet
- Perform regular checks on technical systems to prevent breakdowns.
4. Quality:
- Respects the procedures and work instructions from a quality perspective.
- Takes care of the daily quality and implementation of preventive or corrective actions to achieve the assigned objectives.
5. Security:
- Responsible for opening and closing site, alternating with the Delivery and Dispatch Coordinator.
- Responsible of the building security, alternating with Delivery & Dispatch Coordinator.
- Implements internal rules and codes of good practice relating to safety and environment of DC.
Skills & Knowledge:
Basic knowledge:
- Ability to lead warehouse workers.
- Using software such a word processing, spread sheet, database and mailing.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve simple technical problems.
- Capable to work on different types of equipment and systems.
- Ability to prepare reports.
Practice experience:
- Operational experience in distribution center/warehouse environment.
- Experience of managing team
- Kardex system knowledge is an asset
- Practical experience in building maintenance
- Proficient in MS Office and technical management software. A first experience in CMMS management is a plus.
- Attention efforts:
- Be able to track and manage a lot of issues simultaneously activities.
- Take prompt actions in a complex context and keep them.
Precision and quality:
- Requires great precisions in the instructions and work instructions given to workers.
- Compliance with procedures and works standard (quality, security) is primary.

- Strong resistance to stress
- Human quality integrity, listening to each other, leadership and inspire respect.
- Ability to anticipate problems.

- Excellent communication skills both in Dutch & English to interact with customers and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
