What’s the position?

We are looking for an experienced, technical and visionary VP of Trading to drive Hard Rock Digital’s price origination and live trading function for US sports. This role will own the market making, positioning, and risk management for the core sports product while being a strategic partner to the technology teams building and maintaining the pricing models.

 

You will lead the trading function through a transformative period, building an industry leading trading operation. You and your team of best-in-class trading experts will take ownership of verifying model output, continuously evolving pricing logic, and shaping how automation and data science drive pricing efficiency at scale. While not responsible for building the models directly, you will need the expertise to collaborate in synergy with our quant teams to validate pricing output, be fluent in its underlying logic, and drive relentless excellence in how we price, position, and manage risk.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a best-in-class team responsible for core sports pricing, market making, derivative markets, SGPs, and risk positioning

  • Lead execution of pricing strategy across all market types with focus on competitiveness, accuracy, and profitability

  • Act as the key customer and partner to internal product, data science, and engineering teams responsible for building pricing models

  • Understand, validate, and challenge model outputs, while maintaining an open, solution-oriented mindset

  • Ensure pricing logic aligns with real-world trading conditions, edge cases, and market movement

  • Provide structured, data-driven feedback to improve model performance and automation quality

  • Own market positioning strategies across sports, ensuring pricing aligns with trading goals and customer maximization

  • Manage exposure and risk limits in real time, adjusting strategy in response to betting patterns and volatility

  • Develop frameworks to flag and respond to mispricing, inefficiencies, or liability spikes

  • Be an authority on the industry’s regulatory terrain and responsible gambling policies

  • Champion scalable trading practices by driving automation where possible across pricing, margining, and market management

  • Identify friction points in current workflows and collaborate with product/engineering to prioritize trading tool enhancements

  • Build a roadmap for the future of automated market making with trading input at its core

  • Collaborate with Customer Optimization, Analysis, Trading, and Event Control teams to align on execution and exposure strategies

  • Act as a senior voice in sportsbook leadership, contributing to planning, product feedback, and innovation initiatives

  • Ensure your team’s decisions and processes are aligned with state-level compliance frameworks
