As a VMware (NSX) System Administrator, you carry out specialized activities related to installation, configuration and software and hardware upgrades. You provide specialized technical support for equipment that requires specific expertise. You recommend the appropriate solutions or fixes or escalate requests or incidents to others, as needed. You share ideas. You help solve problems using your analytical skills and comprehensive knowledge of your line of business. You draw on your ability to manage complexity. You interact with partners working in other technology fields. More specifically, you’ll be joining a team of specialists responsible for Desjardins Group’s VMware vSphere environments. You ensure that incidents are handled. You monitor environments to maintain stability, identify potential optimizations and contribute to various projects as an expert. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Provide specialized technical support for IT incidents reported by users or for complex, irregular service requests that require specific expertise

  • Carry out installation, configuration and upgrade activities for equipment or software that require specific expertise

  • Analyze issues, conduct the necessary research, diagnose and document problems Resolve incidents or handle service requests according to established standards and escalate them as needed

  • Identify and communicate improvement opportunities and implement these changes Collaborate on developing tools to increase the efficiency, performance, security and stability of IT environments

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Knowledge of French required

  • Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Knowledge of VMware NSX

  • Knowledge of the vSphere suite

  • Knowledge of vRealize suite tools (Operations, Log Insight, Automation, etc.)

  • Knowledge of various telecommunications components

  • Knowledge of Lenovo and HPE servers and their management tools

  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux platforms
