Visiting Nurse Services (Homecare) Intern
Responsibilities Include:
- Interact with Atlantic Visiting Nurse team members in an office and community setting
- Working hand-in-hand with our visiting nurses to see patients in their home environment and help them towards their individual health goals
- Working with our specialty programs, including Remote Patient Monitoring, Virtual Care, and Wound Program, which provide skilled consultations; these programs aim to reduce the risk of patients being re-hospitalized, while providing an elevated level of assessment and collaboration
- Working with our office team members, who support the patient experience and provide daily oversight to workplace operations
- Includes positive collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to report changes in the patient’s condition and progress towards goals
Qualifications
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time accredited public or private College/University
- Be in good academic standing
- Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident
- Extremely organized
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Understand basic clinical knowledge/nursing
- Curious and willing to learn
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
