*This role requires working as a Receptionist on Mondays and Tuesdays and working as a Kennel Attendant on Thursdays and Fridays*

• Kennel Attendant Duties:

  • Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, even when they're anxious
  • Physical stamina for walking dogs, cleaning kennels, and lifting supplies
  • Excellent attention to detail in following care instructions and observing animal behavior
  • Strong cleaning skills with a commitment to maintaining sanitary conditions
  • Good communication skills for interacting with team members and occasionally with pet owners
  • Patience and compassion when working with animals that may be stressed or ill
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks

  Veterinary Receptionist Duties:

  • You'll warmly greet clients and their pets, making them feel welcome and valued from the moment they contact our practice.
  • You'll skillfully manage multi-line phone systems, gather and document important information accurately, and convey pet care instructions clearly and compassionately.
  • You'll masterfully schedule, confirm, and manage appointments while efficiently handling check-ins and check-outs with proper documentation.
  • You'll promptly alert appropriate departments when patients arrive, distribute daily schedules, and ensure patient files are properly prepared and updated.
  • You'll maintain an inviting, clean, and organized reception area that helps create a positive experience for clients and their pets.

• Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain patients of all temperaments for examinations and procedures
• Proficiency with computers, business systems, and multi-line phone systems
• Attention to detail when handling payments and maintaining records
• Adaptability and grace under pressure when managing busy reception periods
• Excellent attention to detail in monitoring patients and maintaining medical records
• Team-oriented approach with a positive, can-do attitude
• Genuine compassion for animals and the people who love them

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required
• Associate degree in veterinary technology or continuing education in veterinary science a plus
• At least two years of experience in an animal hospital completing the details listed above
• Proficient computer skills for maintaining electronic medical records
• Experience with veterinary programs, Avimark preferred
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and protocols
• Manage cash handling and financial transactions

• Competitive Pay: $18.00 - $20.50 per hour, commensurate with experience
