The Air Systems function develops and delivers air systems for packaging and paper industry. Our solutions help customers increase productivity, reduce operating costs, save energy, and improve quality. We work closely with other Valmet businesses, providing expert support and driving joint development. Our main location is in Raisio, Finland. 

We are now looking for a Senior Manager, Engineering to lead and develop our global engineering operations. In this role, you will be responsible for qualified and timely engineering of delivery projects, as well as for related communication with internal stakeholders and, upon need, with customers. You will lead matters requiring expert advisory and problem solving, taking a role in securing customer satisfaction around them. You will globally develop individuals, ways of working, stakeholder network, and systems and tools for high degree of flexibility and competitiveness. You enable expertise from your team and network being utilized in product and operations development projects. In this role, you will report to the Director, Air Systems and be primarily located in our Raisio office. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Project engineering management (including problem-solving, and internal and customer communication in projects) 

  • Project engineering​ 

  • Engineering development:  

  • Skills and competencies in own engineering and in network  

  • Cost competitiveness and lead time 

  • Guidelines, instructions and models  

  • AI solutions  

  • Coordinating installation advising and start-up services (served to customers through internal stakeholder organization) 

 

Requirements 

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 

  • Familiar with mechanical engineering, process engineering and / or process automation engineering 

  • Familiar with project engineering 

  • Familiar with engineering processes, systems and tools. Experience with AI-solutions is a plus 

  • Experience in working in a global environment 

  • Customer-focused mindset with strong teamwork and communication skills 

  • Independent and proactive working style, complemented by strong networking skills  

  • Ability and will to lead and develop global team and network. Ability and willingness to travel occasionally 

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); other language skills are a plus.
