The University will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B). Job Summary Performs manual cleaning of the assigned buildings by the foreman. Uses proper methods and materials in cleaning and care for the building area and equipment, participates in the care, cleaning, and general housekeeping of the buildings that is assigned, completing all tasks assigned by the foreman. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for cleaning assigned buildings, sweeps, mops and cleans floors; cleans white boards as directed; washes windows, walls, blinds, grills and glass doors; empties trash cans. Also perform sets up and cleans up after events. Dusts general areas vacuums rooms, replenishes supplies and cleans drinking fountains and restrooms. Cleans and sweeps entrances, outside plazas and walks. Assist in the maintenance and care of custodial and event services equipment and furnishing such as vacuum cleaners, buffing machines, pressure washers, tables, chairs, tents, podiums and other related equipment and furnishings as required. This position will require participation in call-out responsibilities and may require night shift responsibilities, and weekend work. Performs additional duties as assigned. Reports damaged structures and equipment to supervisor. Serves as a member of the Physical Plant Essential Personnel and as directed by the Director of Physical Plant participates in pre-emergency preparations and post emergency recovery efforts.
