Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and support a team of EM IP/OP, Surgery, Denials medical coders.

Review and validate complex EM and wound care documentation for accurate ICD10CM, CPT, and HCPCS code assignment.

Ensure compliance with CMS, NCCI, payer rules, and facility policies.

Conduct regular quality audits and provide coder feedback and training.

Monitor team productivity, accuracy, and SLA adherence.

Collaborate with QA, auditors, and clinical documentation teams to resolve queries.

Identify coding trends, denials, and improvement opportunities.

Support new coder onboarding and continuous education.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 5 years of EM coding experience (IP/OP), Surgery, Denials with strong wound care expertise.

1 to 6 series experience is must

AHIMA or AAPC certification (CPC, CCS, CIC, or equivalent) required.

Solid knowledge of EM leveling, wound debridement coding, and modifier usage.

Strong understanding of HIPAA and regulatory compliance.

Excellent communication and team management skills.
