Job Summary

Develops new investment management and trust relationships, services existing account relationships and adheres to our fiduciary responsibilities associated with the administration of accounts. Partners with the Portfolio Manager on the investment strategies of accounts on behalf of our clients while delivering exceptional client service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops new investment management relationships (both Trust and non-Trust accounts)
  • Provides advice in areas of personal trust, estate and tax planning, private banking and investments.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for clients for any of their financial services needs. Coordinates planning efforts with attorneys, accountants, CLUs, other trust personnel and clients.
  • Services existing trust accounts by communicating with grantors and beneficiaries to determine that trust agreements are being carried out as intended.
  • Performs trust accounting functions for accounts for which he/she is administrative officer. This will include but may not be limited to, daily deposits and disbursements, preparation of tax information, billing of trust fees and preparing various internal and external reports.
  • May attend Trust Committee meetings. Provides account reviews, makes investment recommendations where necessary, and carries out plans as set forth by the Trust Committee.
  • Adheres to and maintains knowledge of all Synovus Trust Company written policies and procedures.
  • May be designated as a team lead and assists in the supervision and development of lower level staff.
  • Is actively involved with the community, networking to identify new business development opportunities.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience:

  • 6+ years job-specific experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of trust products, trust accounting procedures and investments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of standard PC operations, Microsoft Office Suite of products, and Adobe Standard.
