Trait Integration Technician

The Georgetown R&D center is the global technology hub for Corteva’s canola breeding programs with on-site field, greenhouse and lab activities supporting the development of industry leading seed products for various markets.

We are currently seeking a Technician to execute Trait Integration experiments.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage day to day activities for greenhouse projects including planting, tissue sampling, transplanting, crossing and harvesting

  • Work effectively with database software to aid in the management of experiments

  • Coordinate and manage seasonal workforce to ensure all activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure all personnel are properly trained on procedures.

  • Participate in the improvement of safety programs.

  • Complete personal development activities as part of a performance management and development plan

  • Be an active team member within the R&D center to help with other field and greenhouse operations as needed.

What Skills You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Genetics, Plant Science, Agriculture, or a related field with relevant experience

  • Good attention to detail and highly organized

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong aptitude for learning computer software

  • Skilled at horticultural project execution

  • Ability to work in greenhouse and field environment (temperatures above 30oC)
