THE ROLE
The Junior Legal Advisor – Global Procurement supports the Legal team in providing timely, practical, and business-focused legal advice to the Global Procurement function. The role focuses primarily on supplier contracting, template management, and legal support throughout the procurement lifecycle, under supervision. This role helps ensure business risk mitigation, process efficiency and compliance with governance, policies, and applicable laws while supporting timely delivery of procurement objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review and negotiate procurement-related agreements (supplier agreements, NDAs, framework, reseller, consultancy, recruitment, novation, subscription agreements), using approved templates as a first approach.
- Draft, review and negotiate data processing agreements and coordinate with DPO, Chief Compliance Officer and AGC–Regulation & Privacy regarding personal data matters.
- Identify legal and contractual risks, escalate issues and prepare summaries for senior review.
- Support contract lifecycle activities including amendments, renewals, breach notifications, letters of demand and termination documents.
- Coordinate with Senior Legal Advisor and Global Procurement on prioritisation and management of timelines.
- Provide guidance and explanations on legal positions and risk mitigation under supervision.
- Prepare risk assessments of supplier legal terms and communicate actions for risk mitigation.
- Set up supplier agreements in DocuSign for execution.
- Assist with NDA review.
- Support compliance and governance processes with DPO and Legal colleagues.
- Assist with supplier due diligence, risk assessments, AI compliance, data protection, IP and confidentiality considerations.
- Maintain consistency in contractual positions across Global Procurement.
- Support template drafting and updating with Senior Legal Advisor.
- Conduct legal research and maintain procurement templates, playbooks and standard positions.
- Contribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives for Procurement stakeholders.
- Assist with internal guidance materials, presentations and training content.
- Collaborate with Global Procurement, IT Security, Finance, CSR, Data Protection and other teams.
- Support collaboration with senior in-house and external counsels including document preparation and follow-up.
SKILLS
- Bachelor degree in Law from an accredited university.
- 3–5 years of relevant legal experience (in-house or law firm) with exposure to commercial/procurement contracts.
- Familiarity with GDPR, governance, privacy, commercial and IP law, procurement and contract negotiation in an international environment.
- Strong commercial contract understanding, drafting and review skills.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage.
- Advanced MS Office skills and legal research tools; familiarity with AI legal tools is a plus.
- Proactive, organised, detail-oriented, strong communicator and collaborative team player.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision and work with diverse stakeholders.
