The Tech Ops team is responsible for deployment and maintenance of a fiber optic network throughout your market, and customer installations and repairs. • Oversee the maintenance and repair of network and power equipment within HUT/CO facilities.
  • Manage validation of supplier’s build/test processes and ensure they are meeting Google requirements. Validate supplier product_life_cycle  deliverables defined by Google and leverage industry quality standards.
  • Partner with the Finance and Controls teams to manage budgets and financial controls.
  • Develop project documentation and create reports and presentations to communicate project updates to GFiber executives.

At a minimum we’d like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years experience managing vendors, contracts, and budgets on large-scale and complex projects in the telecommunication industry.
  • Experience with management/maintenance of HUT/CO equipment, to include network power, access equipment and routing and switching hardware.
  • 5 years of experience in a vendor management role with customer-facing responsibilities.

It’s preferred if you have:

  • Experience managing large scale projects and initiatives from start to finish with proven success.
  • 5 years experience in the deployment and maintenance of network equipment such as OLTs, network power and routing and switching hardware.
  • Proven success working collaboratively on cross-functional, and highly collaborative teams.
  • Flexibility to adapt as role evolves and changes - which could be monthly, quarterly, or annually.
  • 7 years experience in the telecommunications or cable industry (one of the following areas: network operations, network construction and deployment, network architecture, network maintenance, customer installation, customer repair); OR related experience in general construction management, engineering, and project management.
