How will you make an impact in this role?
This position, based in Mexico City, will support the Mexico Tax Manager in managing tax controversy and tax compliance matters related to Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) for all Mexican legal entities. The role involves close coordination with internal teams and oversight of activities performed by external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Tax Controversy Managers during tax authority audits, ensuring compliance with local requirements and timely delivery of documentation.
- Oversee VAT return preparation and support Corporate Income Tax compliance and related accounting processes.
- Review and validate tax compliance reconciliations (CIT and VAT) prepared by external providers or other internal teams.
- Assist in the preparation and review of the Corporate Income Tax Return.
- Support Mexican GAAP audits and the Dictamen Fiscal process in coordination with external auditors.
- Collaborate closely with central tax compliance and tax accounting teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Work cross‑functionally with tax controversy, planning, and advisory teams, providing support as needed on ongoing and special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent), with 4+ years of experience in VAT and Corporate Income Tax compliance and accounting.
- Experience with digital invoicing systems and tax connectivity for revenues and expenses.
- Experience supporting tax accounting matters, including Deferred Tax calculations under Mexican GAAP.
- Intermediate English proficiency, both written and spoken.
- Prior experience in the financial or payments industry and/or with a Big 4 firm is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with AI‑enabled tools.
