We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Architect who will take ownership of the technical architecture of our browser-based applications while remaining actively involved into day-to-day backend and frontend development. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys end-to-end design, practical implementation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that our product is scalable, maintainable, and delivers an exceptional user experience.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and QA teams, providing technical leadership, validating design decisions, and ensuring alignment between long-term architecture and short-term delivery needs. And will work on new and existing projects leveraging Angular framework and TypeScript with Java and Spring at the backend. The backbone of our frontend applications is a set of reusable UI components and micro frontend-alike more complex applications leveraging these components and backend applications at the same time.

Main areas of responsibilities:

  • Define, maintain, and evolve the system architecture and development scope for a large-scale web applications.
  • Design scalable, maintainable, and secure backend and frontend solutions; Establish technical standards, coding practices, and architecture principles
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools. Drive architecture alignment across multiple squads/streams.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into interactive web experiences.
  • Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance to developers to ensure high engineering quality.
  • Identify and manage technical debt, balance long-term quality and delivery timelines. Work closely with product managers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and architectural sessions. Oversee architectural documentation and ensure it’s up-to-date.
  • Troubleshoot and debug technical issues. Support production readiness, monitoring and optimization.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for front-end and back-end development, including accessibility, security, and performance optimization, including dependencies impacts.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, frameworks, and technologies to continuously improve our front-end stack, especially including Angular development timeline.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in the similar position and related tools.
  • Angular and TypeScript knowledge and practice, proficiency in backend technologies such as Java and Spring Framework.
  • REST APIs practical knowledge.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, authentication/authorization, data flows.
  • Strong knowledge of architecture patterns: microservices, modular monoliths, event-driven, etc.
  • Collaboration mindset, strong technical problem solving and debugging skills, ability to work independently.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
  • Very good communication and collaboration skills. Strong ownership mentality. Proactive problem-solving.

Nice to have attributes:

  • Experience in AgGrid or other complex UI libraries or willingness to learn as a plus.
  • Experience in highly regulated or high-availability environments.
  • Background in mentoring or leading small teams.
  • Experience in OpenShift / Kubernetes.
