We are looking for a skilled and passionate Sushi Cook to join our kitchen team. The Sushi Cook will be responsible for preparing and presenting cold and hot high-quality sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and tempura dishes in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of sushi preparation, fryers, knife skills, and an appreciation for fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare (hot and cold) sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and tempura items following established recipes and techniques.
  • Ensure the quality, freshness, and presentation of food.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
  • Work with a variety of ingredients such as fish, seafood, rice, and vegetables.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Ensure all sushi/fryer dishes are prepared in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Proven experience as a sushi chef or cook.
  • Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including rice cooking and fish slicing.
  • Familiarity with various sushi rolls, sashimi, and tempura dishes.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain focus.
  • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for food.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as necessary.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a high-volume sushi restaurant.

  • Culinary Arts School degree or Certifications preferred but not required.
