Eurofins Environment Testing is seeking a Support Services Group Lead to join our team!
The Support Services Group Lead is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of the canister preparation department, including staffing, workflow planning, quality standards, and resource allocation. The Group Lead ensures that departmental goals align with organizational objectives and drives operational efficiency through strategic oversight rather than hands-on task execution.
As the first-level front-line leader, the Group Lead sets performance expectations, coaches and develops staff, and exercises independent judgment in operational decisions, including process improvements, scheduling, and allocation of resources. This role represents senior management in the department, translating company goals, policies, and culture into actionable strategies, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Lead and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring all departmental activities comply with company policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee staff training programs to ensure team members consistently follow safety protocols.
- Support and help resolve safety and compliance issues while maintaining accountability to senior management.
Operations & Productivity
- Manage and direct daily departmental operations, including workflow planning, staffing allocation, and scheduling to ensure efficiency and timely delivery.
- Supervise and perform tasks, including:
- Canister cleaning and certification
- Assembly of sampling equipment
- High-volume media preparation
- Equipment handling and readiness
- Monitor and drive productivity to meet operational targets while controlling costs.
- Ensure shipment orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, aligning with client schedules and project requirements.
- Identify and implement workflow optimizations to scale operations and support business growth.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and enforce departmental quality standards, including proper canister/media preparation, certification, and equipment readiness.
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance workflow, quality, and operational performance.
- Communicate production or technical issues to senior management and drive timely resolution.
Customer Focus
- Act as the primary departmental point of contact for client concerns, coordinating staff to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Support project planning by understanding client needs and aligning operations to meet expectations.
- Ensure a high level of service through accuracy, responsiveness, and reliability.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of canisters, sampling equipment, and supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor usage of spare parts and maintenance supplies, initiating reorders as needed.
- Ensure proper maintenance, repair, and readiness of sampling equipment.
- Participate as needed in equipment handling and preparation to support operational continuity.
People & Leadership
- Lead, supervise, coach, and develop departmental staff, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability standards.
- Conduct performance evaluations, identify talent development opportunities, and implement strategies to strengthen team capability.
- Make staffing, hiring, and disciplinary decisions, exercising independent judgment and managerial authority.
- Foster a collaborative, professional, and results-driven team environment.
- Maintain the ability to perform physical aspects of the role when necessary, while prioritizing leadership and oversight responsibilities.
Additional Duties
- Perform general or other duties as assigned by senior management based on business needs.
- Use discretion and independent judgment to carry out additional responsibilities that support departmental objectives and organizational priorities.
- Demonstrate a hands-on approach in supervising and occasionally performing operational tasks to support the team and ensure high-quality results.

Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in environmental or laboratory operations, including supervisory/leadership responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of canister/media preparation, cleaning, certification, and sampling equipment operations.
- Familiarity with TO-15 methods and related sampling equipment (e.g., canisters, regulators, flow controllers) preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems and processes, including tracking of canisters, parts, and consumables.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience supervising assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sampling equipment.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and LIMS systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to staff and support client needs.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and promoting company values.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and occasionally perform operational tasks when necessary, while maintaining primary responsibility for management and oversight.
- Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
- Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule (Monday–Friday), with flexibility for weekends and overtime as needed.
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
Compensation Range: $70,304 - $70,000 per year depending on level of experience and qualifications.
Position is Full-time, exempt from overtime pay. Candidate must be able to work Monday thru Friday 8am - 5pm and other hours as needed.
Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base compensation of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
