Job Summary:

The Contract Manager will be responsible for supervising the team of Contract Specialist. This role entails supervising the management/negotiations and execution of contracts, as well as tracking and reporting related processes associated with Framework Agreements for materials, services. The Contract Manager shall ensure that all processes and procedures related to Terms and Conditions are comprehensive and consistent, and that the team maintains uniform standards of work. Additionally, the Contract Manager will be accountable for all team reporting to the management of the Contract Management team. Furthermore, the Contract Manager will coordinate the team in monitoring major contract obligations and ensuring the correct execution and implementation of contracts. This role requires interaction and coordination with the Procurement, Legal, and Business teams. This position reports to the Sr Manager, Operational Excellence, Standards & Contract Mgmt. – P&T

​ Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Contract Specialist team; provide oversite, coaching, and feedback, through regular communication and the annual performance appraisal process.

  • Serve as the designated point of contact to interface to stakeholders of the organization on the contract review, negotiations and execution (Legal, Procurement, Insurance, Risk, Cyber Security, Health and Safety).

  • Manage and supervise to develop and apply Avangrid process and procedures related to steps required for the bid and award of contracts including the form and format of specifications, pre-bid meetings, bid clarifications, and focused on providing materials in a common manner.

  • Responsible for the successful and timely execution of terms and conditions for Framework Agreements.

  • Responsible for understanding, organizing, and structuring the work and personnel in a manner that will support the objectives of the organization

  • Assist to organize and maintain database or utilize existing systems

  • Assure that information regarding status of contract actions is documented.

  • Work to close outstanding issues related to Terms and Conditions and serve as a mediator between executives and staff members employed as part of their area.

  • Plan, implement and execute specific organization’s goals and policies.

  • Serve as point of contact to supervise interface with the Contract Management team within the area.

  • Work with Contract Management teams to evaluate overall contractor performance within the P&T’s organization developing and reporting.

  • Coordinate supervision and interface with the Contract Management team in the management of expediting and delivery verification support to meet Contract milestones and commitments of upcoming actions and assist in the communication of contract specifics as needed.

  • Provide support on bids, RFP’s, RFQ’s, and other solicitations as needed. May require summarizing of opportunity, identifying key business requirements, and ensuring unit pricing standards are met.

  • Manage relationship with Procurement, Legal, Business Areas, Corporate Security and any other ancillary groups in the company.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in Contract Management and Logistics related to energy infrastructure Contracts or related industry.

  • Experience in negotiation review and negotiations of Terms and Conditions

  • Knowledge and experience navigating the Procurement Process. Creation and management of IBuy sourcing requests experience is preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft tools (Word)

  • Change Management (people, process, technology) experience

  • Agility, versatility, and flexibility; productive in a multi-tasking and rapidly changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement – POs and terms and conditions.

  • Paralegal certification

  • Legal Degree

  • Experience in having participated and carrying out negotiations to close contracts

  • Expertise in interpreting complex commercial/legal contract terms and conditions

  • Experience on drafting communications to contractors/Suppliers based legal contact terms.
