About the Role:

As the Student Placement and Industry Recruitment Coordinator, you will lead the development and coordination of industry and community partnerships that support both student placements and learner recruitment. You’ll work closely with Health and Wellbeing service providers to create meaningful, work-based learning opportunities and promote our programmes as workforce development pathways.

This is a highly people-facing role with a strong presence in the field. You’ll spend significant time travelling to engage with industry and community partners, attending meetings, and working directly with students on campus to support placement readiness and recruitment activity. A company car is provided to support this travel.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, and grow partnerships with Health and Wellbeing providers, NGOs, and community organisations

  • Act as the key point of contact between placement organisations and the College

  • Coordinate student placements and work-based learning aligned to programme outcomes

  • Support learners and placement providers before, during, and after placements

  • Recruit learners from partner organisations and community networks into Level 2–4 programmes

  • Deliver outreach activities including employer engagement and information sessions

  • Maintain placement agreements and records in line with NZQA and organisational requirements

  • Contribute to quality assurance, compliance, and sector engagement initiatives

About you:

You are a proactive and relationship-focused professional who enjoys being out in the community and building strong, trusted connections. You are confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders — from industry leaders and community organisations to students and internal teams — and you understand the value of collaboration in achieving positive outcomes.

You are well organised, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a role that balances travel, engagement, and administration. You are motivated by supporting learner success and contributing to workforce development in the Health and Wellbeing sector.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in industry engagement, partnerships, or workforce development

  • Knowledge of the New Zealand Health and Wellbeing sector

  • Experience working with learners or vocational education pathways

  • Strong communication, organisation, and relationship-management skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others

  • Commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive practice and learner wellbeing

  • A full New Zealand Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience in a PTE, ITO, or vocational education environment

  • Familiarity with NZQA qualifications or work-integrated learning
