 About the Role & Team

The Live Orchestration Department at DE&E Technology consists of agile and responsive teams of technicians that perform the daily processes and procedures required to run our live and on-demand streaming video products. The department’s responsibilities consist of round-the-clock support for these products, ensuring proper functionality across all platforms. Oversight includes both Linear and Event based content, hands-on operational and procedural support for our products, including system health monitoring and incident management, in addition to live and VOD streaming media orchestration using proprietary software.  

A qualified Streaming Media Lead is a key member of a daily operations team responsible for delivering high profile media products to market. By possessing advanced workflow knowledge and operational experience, this Lead has exceptional and specialized expertise in an analytical/scientific method or operational process, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. In addition, responsibilities will include collection and organization of data files that drive platforms during optimal and service-outage incidents, and perform client and product support as needed, which can include holidays, nights and weekends.  

An Operations Lead will also:  

  • Serve as a shift leader  

  • Implement guidance in regards to technology improvement and daily operations 

  • Run incident management during service outages 

  • Generate procedure documentation 

  • Provide operational efficiency feedback to leadership

What You Will Do 

-Focus on major areas of work, typically 20% or more of role 

  • Responsible for following operational procedures and raising awareness of issues in workflows when they arise

  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services

  • Execute defined processes to validate the quality and availability of live content streams 

10% of time 

  • Records steps to troubleshoot workflows when issues arise 

20% of time

  • Fields workflow requirements from senior staff and gathers data in support of documentation of workflows 

20% of time

Required Qualifications & Skills  

 

Minimum and Preferred. Inclusive of Licenses/Certs (include functional experience as well as behavioral attributes and/or leadership capabilities) 

Basic Qualifications  

  • 6+ years of experience in a relevant technical, operational or digital media environment with proven leadership skills 

  • Deep understanding of live streaming media workflows  

  • Exhibits broad skills in data synthesis and data processes 

  • Ability to implement guidance regarding data and technology improvement information from Supervisor 

  • Ability to construct workflow requirements and ensures that team members understand documentation and troubleshooting procedures 

  • Ability to serve as a subject matter expert during Priority 1-2 Incidents  

 

Additional Information  

  • This is an operational role based within a 24/7 environment, and shift-based availability will be required 

  • Some on-call or extended-hour work may be necessary to support major events or business-critical activity.
