Forward Deployed Engineer
TL;DR: Strala is rebuilding the foundation of the world’s largest industry - insurance.
In less than a year, we reached multi seven-figure ARR and are growing 50% MOM. We raised two rounds from Tier 1 funds including Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, led by the partner who was early in OpenAI, Cognition and Scale AI. Our team comes from institutions like Harvard, Berkeley & Oxford and firms like Optiver, AMD & Palantir (+ICPC, NeurIPS backgrounds).
In this role you will
You will individually deploy multi-modal, agentic AI systems into production with major business impact. You own client deployments end-to-end, from scoping through go-live, acting as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders.
Build and manage client relationships: understand challenges, align priorities, and become the trusted partner executives rely on to scale their AI adoption.
Design, build, and evolve AI agents that deliver optimal claims outcomes, including prompt engineering, model integration, and blitz prototyping using AI-assisted coding tools.
Work with applied AI on a daily basis. You scope and develop new features that allow our customers to scale while consistently improving claims results.
Help integrate our product into client environments, working hands-on with their tech teams on APIs and systems.
Coordinate with our core platform team to ensure smooth delivery and improve the product with actionable insights.
Capture and share best practices in internal playbooks to scale Forward Deployed Engineering.
You will thrive if you
Think and operate like a founder. You take ownership of problems, move fast, and figure it out, whether that means jumping on a client call or writing a quick integration.
Have 2+ years in a role combining technical depth with client-facing ownership (e.g. agent engineering, forward deployed engineering, growth engineer, or founding engineer/founder).
Have a solid technical foundation: comfort with Python, APIs, cloud platforms, and modern AI/ML tooling. You are genuinely technical and can build.
Are familiar with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic AI concepts, and comfortable with AI-assisted development workflows to ship solutions fast.
Excel at explaining the connection between complex technical concepts and business outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
