Key Relationships
Reporting to the Stevia Plant Manager, this position works closely with EHSQ Manager, Operations Specialist, Process Engineer, Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, and contractors.

Role purpose
The Stevia Plant Operator has the responsibility of setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Stevia process as well as maintaining manufacturing equipment in our Decatur Stevia Plant.

Responsible for area specific EHSQS procedure/policy
Responsible for reporting all incidents, defects, and hazards

Compliance with procedures that implement the requirements of the EHSQS policies and procedures

Carrying out their work in a manner which does not present a risk to themselves, others and the environment
Reporting all incidents, defects, hazards and inadequacies of procedures so that appropriate review and corrective action can be taken
Main accountabilities
Place safety and Food Safety as the highest single priority in the workplace.
Operate process equipment and execute all the necessary tasks to produce natural high intensity sweetener products based on natural ingredients.
Learn unit operations in material handling, reactions, filtration systems, spray drying and packaging.
Complete sanitation task according to master sanitation programs.
Participate in EHSQS audits, OSHA style compliance audits and EHSQS safety communications.
Maintain records for each production run (runsheets, HACCP forms, Sanitation forms, etc).
Sample and performing analytical tests when needed.
Be diligent in monitoring/observing production runs and reporting deviations or trends.
Troubleshoot operating equipment problems and relay pertinent information to appropriate personnel.
Participate in reviewing safety and operating Standard Operating Procedures, Job Risk Analyses, and Pre-Startup Inspections, Work permits.
Physical Requirements
The position requires climbing stairs/ladders, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, sitting, and standing for 12 hour shift duration.

Fully participate in the safety program, including reporting any incidents or near misses and auditing.
Performance measures
The incumbent will be measured against site EHSQ, Production, Reliability, and Plant goals.

Skills and experiences required.
This individual must be self-motivated, a team player, skilled in verbal and written communication. Practical hands-on equipment, manufacturing experience and demonstrated mechanical aptitude are considered significant pluses. Ability to learn and identify improvements needed.
Starting wage 27.50/hr
