Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Position: Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician Summary: • Responsible for preparing sterile compounded medications in a cleanroom environment following USP standards. • Produce large-volume batches (up to 250 vials per batch) using strict aseptic techniques. • Ensure all work meets quality and safety requirements. • Prepare sterile medications according to specific formulations, which may include powders, liquids, or injections customized for individual patients. • Comply with regulations, maintain productivity, handle and store medications properly. • Work in the intravenous cleanroom suite, manage inventory, and assist with inspections and quality control. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Sterile Compounding & Batch Production: • Prepare sterile compounded medications according to batch records, compounding logs, and approved formulas. • Compound large batches (up to 250 vials per run) accurately and efficiently. • Follow aseptic technique and gowning procedures at all times. • Operate compounding equipment such as repeater pumps, filtration systems, and mixers. • Quality Assurance & Compliance: • Maintain compliance with USP and state/federal regulations. • Perform and document cleaning, disinfection, and environmental monitoring. • Accurately label and package finished products for pharmacist verification. • Documentation & Recordkeeping: • Complete batch logs and compounding documentation precisely. • Maintain accurate records of lot numbers, expiration dates, and quantities used. • Immediately report deviations, errors, or contamination to supervising pharmacist. • Teamwork & Communication: • Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to meet production goals. • Keep sterile compounding area clean and organized. • Participate in ongoing training and competency assessments. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a regulated environment. • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in full cleanroom PPE. Education & Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Completion of accredited pharmacy technician training preferred. • Active pharmacy technician license/registration in state of practice required. • 1+ year sterile compounding experience preferred. • USP Category 3 experience desirable. #VensureEmployerSolutions #LI-PROMOTED #LI-Onsite
