Staff Psychologist, Rosemead School of Psychology The Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University is conducting a search for a Staff Psychologist to begin in July 2026, possibly sooner. Strong candidates will be clinical or counseling psychologists, license-eligible in California, with significant clinical, supervisory, and/or teaching experience. The successful candidate will serve at the Biola Counseling Center (BCC), administered by Rosemead. BCC serves both student and community clients, functioning as a training clinic and an approved APA-internship. This is a wonderful opportunity for a psychologist to join the BCC team and enjoy a blend of clinical supervision and teaching in the broader context of an academic community. This is a full-time position with Administrative Faculty status and benefits, including health insurance, 403b match, and tuition remission opportunities. Basic Function and Responsibility: The Staff Psychologist is responsible for the clinical supervision of BCC doctoral psychology practicum students, teaching undergraduate and/or graduate psychology courses for the Rosemead School of Psychology, and for delivering psychotherapy and other clinical services to the Biola University campus community. Alignment with Theological Positions Alignment with Theological Positions: The person who fills this position must be someone who personally agrees with Biola’s Articles of Faith and Statement of Biblical Principles and who is supportive of the positions taken by Biola as contained in its Eschatology Teaching Position. As such, this person may not speak against or act in a manner inconsistent with these positions during the course of their employment at Biola. Essential Duties: Teaching Activities: • Teach up to 6 semester units of undergraduate or graduate psychology courses for R osemead School of Psychology per year. Clinical Activities: • Provide primary clinical supervision for up to eight first and/or advanced practicum students, including all clinical activities and services they perform, utilizing audio and video review . • Review, edit and approve all clinical and crisis documentation for primary supervisees (intakes, treatment plans, case notes, consultations, clinical letters, terminations, etc.). • In collaboration with other BCC Staff Psychologists, develop and deliver orientation, weekly clinical training didactics, and supervision experiences that enhance practicum student clinical skills and professional development. • Evaluate the clinical and professional functioning of BCC practicum students up to four times per year (mid-semester Fall, mid-year, mid-semester Spring, final) depending on students’ training level . Participate in Rosemead 2 nd year Evals for first practicum students. • Provide occasional outreach consultation and educational programming for Biola University students , faculty and staff on topics which promote the overall health and wellness of the campus community. • Each Staff Psychologist is on call 24/7 for campus, student or client crisis one week each summer (July/August). • Oversee trainee participation in student care consultations and collaboration with Student Development staff in support of students of concern as needed and / or directed by the BCC Director. • Participate in all aspects of supervision, training and case disposition at the BCC as needed and / or dir e cted by the BCC Director. The Staff Psychologist is available to consult/supervise for crises that arise for other BCC trainees beyond their primary supervisees, when on site. Administrative Activities: • Complete and submit required documentation for practicum students’ academic programs . • Collaborate with other BCC Staff Psychologists in evaluating, interviewing and ranking advanced practicum candidates each year. • Document all orientation, clinical training seminars, workshops and supervision experiences developed and delivered to practicum students. • Assist practicum students with practicum/internship applications, recommendations and future career planning. • Document all on-call crisis contacts, outreach consultation and educational programming done for the Biola University campus community as directed by the BCC Director . • Collaborate with the BCC Director in monitoring, evaluating and improving the elements and structure of BCC clinical services and training programs. • Document all psychotherapy and crisis services for BCC clients, Biola students and student care consultations per center and legal and ethical guidelines. • Actively participate in all BCC training activities, and staff, supervisor and case disposition meetings. Supervision Received: The Staff Psychologist reports to the BCC Director. Qualifications General: Personal characteristics that include spiritual maturity, responsibility, desire and capacity to work with multiple, diverse constituents of the BCC and as a willing team member are required for this position. Experience: Supervisory and/or teaching experience are required, as is experience providing treatment to adult outpatient psychotherapy clients. Expertise in interventions relevant to the needs of a university campus clientele will also be valuable. Education : PsyD or PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and being licensed or immediately license-eligible in California is required.
