Sr Trust Operations Support Specialist

About the Role

Under general supervision, the Senior Trust Operations Support Specialist is responsible for Unique Asset accounting and settlement, with a specialization in mineral interests, partnerships, and closely held assets. This role supports trust operations through accurate asset processing, coordination of data feeds, technology support, and ongoing process improvement across Trust Operations.

The Impact You’ll Make

  • Manage Unique Asset records, including receipts, transfers, and dispositions for mineral interests, partnerships, and closely held assets

  • Process mineral interest payments and expenses in compliance with the Income and Principal Act and IRS tax reporting standards

  • Analyze Joint Interest Billing statements for working interests

  • Update market values of mineral interests annually in accordance with policies and procedures

  • Reconcile Unique Assets with the Trust Accounting System

  • Complete annual oil and gas reviews with external vendors and trust partners

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to establish and maintain data feeds to data aggregators

  • Perform directed trustee daily reconciliations

  • Serve as an in-house resource for technology applications and operational research

  • Support onboarding by coordinating system access and application setup for new employees

  • Conduct quarterly user security reviews and manage operations access applications

  • Partner with Operations leadership to develop and implement process improvements

  • Provide cross-training and guidance to Trust Associates on operational functions

  • Participate in internal, external, and financial audits

  • Create data downloads, manage datasets, generate reports, and identify trends or issues with resolution plans

  • Participate on project teams by gathering requirements and supporting testing through workflow analysis and use cases

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

What You’ll Bring to Baird

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of equivalent experience in the financial industry

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Access

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate, high-quality work

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others

  • Broad understanding of operational procedures and processes

  • High level of motivation, curiosity, and ability to think creatively in a fast-paced environment
