Job Description
 

Gilead Sciences is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and commercialises innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need.

We are recruiting for a new Senior Therapeutic Specialist within the HIV Sales Team, covering New South Wales South. The role reports to the Associate Director of Sales and the position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Represent Gilead’s products and services to a defined customer base within a specific geographic area

  • Utilizes an in–depth level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to Target Accounts and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs)

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Adopt a competitive selling mindset and use territory knowledge and insights to develop account plans to achieve allocated product patient targets

  • Utilize an in–depth level of HIV product and Therapeutic Area knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to target accounts and HCPs

  • Use Veeva CRM, sales reporting/analytics tools, segmentation, market insights to build an in-depth understanding of the market to drive activity, resource allocation and monitor sales progress

  • Work collaboratively with Medical Scientists, Marketing, Business Conduct, Finance, and other relevant internal Gilead team members on cross-functional projects related to target accounts or HCPs

  • Demonstrate a curious, seek to understand approach when building professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Contribute to a strong team culture by seeking, receiving, and providing honest feedback to drive performance, while respecting inclusion and psychological safety

  • Organize sales meetings and associated activities, and follow up to ensure successful completion

  • Manage territory budget for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditure

  • Represent Gilead at professional events and promote company products at such events

  • Contributes to or may take the lead on projects within team as required

  • Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner e.g., updating customer database, expenses etc.

  • Responsible for achieving the competency levels required in the role

  • Compliance with all regulatory agencies, state, and federal laws

 

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with a high level of autonomy and independence

  • Serves as technical expert of Gilead products, the HIV therapeutic class and key moments in the HIV patient journey to educate key Target Accounts and HCPs

  • Demonstrated experience of working cross-functionally in a collaborative team environment

  • Experience in adopting an omnichannel approach through targeted, dynamic channel use in order to engage with Target Accounts and HCPs

  • Knowledge of industry trends and competitor’s resources, strategies, and practices

  • Able to proactively identify opportunities and respond to issues and effectively communicate options or recommendations to Sales and Marketing Management

  • Ask considered questions to challenge conventional thinking

  • Develops, shares and executes innovative ideas to unlock access to new opportunities

  • A science or medical/healthcare related degree such as nursing, pharmacy, medical science

  • 5+ years relevant selling experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

  • 3+ years Specialty Sales experience

  • Experience in HIV or infectious diseases such as hepatitis C/B desirable

  • Experience in Strategic or Key Account Management desirable but not essential
