Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Act as the on-site liaison between Universal Logistics and GM production teams.
- Monitor inbound and outbound material flow to ensure on-time delivery to GM assembly lines.
- Track inventory levels, reconcile shortages/overages, and address any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with GM production schedulers and Universal dispatch/planning teams to align supply chain activities.
- Facilitate communication regarding expedited shipments, quality holds, or supply chain disruptions.
- Support problem-solving efforts for material shortages, damaged goods, or late deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare daily/weekly material status reports.
- Ensure compliance with GM and Universal Logistics policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Participate in regular production and logistics meetings, providing updates and recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with GM contacts, Universal management, and third-party providers.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 2–4 years of experience in material coordination, logistics, or automotive supply chain.
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and just-in-time (JIT) material delivery.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to serve as a bridge between multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
