Main Responsibilities:
- Controls the movement of materials through the network, determining the most efficient and cost-effective means available to meet company delivery requirements and schedules, and rerouting in response to irregular operations.
- Ensures the efficient and safe operation of the network, communicating with locations, distribution centers, contracted carriers, and other departments as required.
- Collects and monitors minute-by-minute data on all DHL materials moving within the network, acting as the central source of information for Service Centers and Operations.
- Assists in decisions regarding the need for irregular aircraft routing or the addition of a charter aircraft to a route.
- Evaluates shipment specifications and authorizes the movement of oversized or overweight shipments.
- Coordinates material movement by approving or denying air movement requests for shipments that exceed DHL size parameters.
- Monitors and assists with ground movements of aircraft and personnel.
- Acts as the information exchange center for all dangerous goods, including identification, handling, and emergency procedures, in accordance with the DHL General Operations Manual.
- At higher levels, may provide functional guidance, advice, and/or training to less experienced Hub, Gateway, or terminal warehouse professionals.
Qualifications – External
- Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Aircraft Dispatch, or related fields.
- 2–3 years of experience in the aviation sector (crew scheduling, administration, aircraft fleet scheduling and control).
- Knowledge of Aeronautical Law (desired).
- Airline contract management (desired).
- Ground Handling Service Agreement (SGHA) contract management (desired).
- Advanced English.
- Advanced level of Microsoft Office – Office 365.
- Strong communication skills.
- Availability to work 24x7 (rotating shift schedule).
