A Day in the Life

The Sr. Program Manager - R&D Operations, Effectiveness & Innovation will serve as a dynamic member Acute Care & Monitoring (ACM) OU R&D team. Total revenue of ACM is $2B and it will be the largest business at Medtronic.

This role is based out of Lafayette, CO 

The Sr. Program Manager - R&D Operations, Effectiveness & Innovation's primary responsibility is to support the ACM R&D leadership team, especially the VP, R&D to accelerate our abilities to meet our goals.

This role will be instrumental in managing the operational cadence, strategic alignment, and communication within the ACM R&D function. This role includes overseeing key meetings and reviews, designing agendas, and driving timely follow through to enable operational excellence across the R&D function. Acting as a liaison between the VP, R&D and various stakeholders, the Sr. Program Manager- R&D Operations, Effectiveness & Innovation will prepare essential communications in partnership with senior leaders.

         

         

Position Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Implementation: Converting insights into measurable actions/ results
  • Serve as a liaison between the ACM VP, R&D and other senior leaders, employees, portfolio, corporate and external stakeholders. 
  • In partnership with R&D leaders and cross functional leaders, prepare presentations, reports, and other communications on behalf of the VP, R&D or other key leaders in the ACM R&D LT. 
  • Facilitate effective communication across the ACM R&D function to ensure alignment and collaboration. 

  • Develop and track action items for ACM R&D LT. 

  • Support the operational cadence and rhythm for ACM R&D LT i.e., Weekly Operating Committee, Monthly Operating Committee and R&D Strategic Committee 

  • Support the planning and coordination of business reviews to enable alignment with and execution of the broader business strategy. 

  • Design and manage meeting agendas, logistics, and post meeting follow-ups for business system forums and meetings. 

  • Support ACM R&D strategic and process improvement initiatives. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

 

Candidate must be highly motivated, proactive, goal driven, customer-focused, have an effective communication skill with ability to explain complex concept simply to senior leadership, high energy level, and strong work ethic. Must be able to think strategically without losing sight of the details and act tactically to achieve desired results.  

 

EDUCATION: 

Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of work experience leading and managing the execution of strategic programs and projects OR Advanced Degree with 8+ years of work experience in leading and managing the execution of strategic programs and projects

  • Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and operate effectively in white spaces. 

  • Ability to organize and synthesize complex information to communicate in a simple way. 

  • Strong Business Acumen and clinical and product domain expertise. 

  • Familiarity with ACM business system. 

  • Strong organizational skills. 

  • Excellent executive communication skills (written and oral).

  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously. 

  • Experience with business partnering. 

  • Demonstrated competence in identifying and understanding healthcare and industry trends. 

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and use business and financial measures. 

  • Ability to partner with and influence stakeholders across the matrix. 

  • Collaborative approach, familiarity with matrix organizations and how to successfully work cross-functionally. 

  • Strong strategic thinking skills. 

Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires broad management knowledge and experience to lead project teams in one department.
Typically has mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$170,400.00 - $255,600.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
