Sr. FinOps Engineer
Role Overview
This role is for the FinOps team which is responsible for the overall Cloud spend financial health reporting and governance. The person would be responsible for enhancing the maturity of the FinOps practice at Smarsh by democratizing and spreading awareness about cloud spend bridging finance, technology and business optimizing cloud spending and maximizing business value. The person will act as a central point for creating a culture of cost accountability, helping engineering teams manage costs without sacrificing speed, while providing financial visibility to stakeholders.

Required Experience/Skills
- 5+ years of enterprise experience in FinOps/cloud cost optimization/cloud financial management and cloud engineering
- Strong understanding of AWS cost models, billing / usage data, and architecture-driven optimization.
- Experience identifying and remediating cloud inefficiencies beyond the obvious.
- Background in engineering, cloud architecture, or DevOps, with fluency in both technical and financial discussions.
- Strong presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Sales, and Engineering teams.
- Active involvement in the FinOps Foundation community and a strong network in the FinOps/Cloud ecosystem.
- Strong expertise in building custom dashboards and reports using BI tools (Apptio-Cloudability, PowerBI, Quicksight, etc)
- Understanding of unit economics, unit cost metrics, and financial forecasting.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (preferred).
