What you'll be doing...
The Sr Cloud Engineer is a senior position within the 5G Network Deployment team. This position is responsible for developing the automation to enable the deployment of 4G & 5G network workloads on top of the telco network cloud and supporting the deployment & operations. The Sr Engineer position must excel in technical theory and documentation. The Cloud Engineer will function as a subject matter expert in automation and cloud computing and will leverage those skills to drive efficiencies.
Responsible for leading/contributing the deployment automation of virtual & containerized network workloads, services and network slicing deployment & configurations.
Core Responsibilities
Lead the development of future-proof automation to eliminate manual processes and drive operational efficiencies.
Deploy and manage 4G & 5G network workloads on cloud platforms while maintaining an in-depth understanding of network functions.
Proactively identify system deficiencies and develop rapid solutions to improve reliability and performance.
Lead failure analysis and remediation efforts, providing concise updates and project status presentations to executive leadership.
Create comprehensive process documentation (Methods & Procedures) and visual process flows to standardize operations.
Effectively communicate with internal tenants and external customers, working across teams to ensure seamless end-to-end designs.
Proven experience as an Automation Engineer using tools like Selenium, managing the full defect lifecycle and developing robust software test plans.
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript, including experience with Groovy scripting.
Expert knowledge of Gitlab, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence to support continuous integration and deployment.
Deep understanding of system operations, device-system interactions, microservices, and data structures/algorithms.
Proficient in using REST API calls and managing databases such as MongoDB and MySQL.
Familiarity with network diagnostic tools including Wireshark, tshark, and dumpcap for packet analysis and trace capturing.
Foundational knowledge of AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI applications.
What we are looking for ...
You'll need to have:
• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in the Telecom/Networking domain.
• Experience with Kubernetes / Opensift / Openstack
• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting containerized applications in Kubernetes environment
• Development/Automation experience Ansible, Python/GO.
• Experience with cloud native logging & monitoring tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana etc
• Experience with Git, Gitlab, and or GitHub.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
• In depth working experience with Kubernetes & Open stack.
• Experience in architecture, design and development of cloud native applications
• Experience with cloud native logging & monitoring tools such as ELK, Prometheus, Grafana etc
• Experience with Network Cloud/ Network Virtualization, NFV Infrastructure, Orchestration & Automation.

Additional Job Description
Responsible for driving the development, implementation, and/or upkeep of cloud computing solutions. They deliver software development
specifications with a thorough analysis and understanding of clients' needs and requirements. They work independently to build scalable grid systems to handle a variety of frameworks in the cloud computing platform. Performs the testing and maintenance of cloud computing platforms and infrastructure.
Uses experience, expertise and skills to make recommendations/solve problems that are more difficult and infrequent.
* Meet with clients both internally and externally to discuss the requirements of their cloud computer needs, developing a list of requirements and offering recommendations and advising clients based on their knowledge of existing systems.
* Evaluate and develop the various cloud-based systems and platforms, determining the software specifications and establishing the new environment within the
company.
* Migrate or integrate existing systems into the new cloud-based environment, determining the process of decommissioning the old systems while maintaining any required services.
* Performing tests, proof of concepts, and FOAs validate the functionality of the software
components and certify its use in production.
* Install, configure, and maintain the cloud-based systems, enhancing the overall performance
and determining methods for automating the processes.
