How will you do it?

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional product team of approximately 12-18 people, including software engineers, a Product Owner, and QA engineers. This is a technical leadership role where you will be equally comfortable whiteboarding architecture, reviewing pull requests, and driving sprint ceremonies.

You will own the engineering delivery of product features built on Angular and .NET, championing a culture of code quality, test automation, and AI-assisted development workflows. The ideal candidate combines deep technical credibility with the people skills to grow engineers and partner effectively with product, design, and stakeholders.

Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Actively participate in design and code reviews; contribute to complex feature development on the Angular / .NET stack as needed
  • Define and enforce coding standards, architecture patterns, and best practices across the team
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies, frameworks, and AI-assisted tooling to keep the team on the cutting edge
  • Lead technical decision-making and trade-off discussions with clarity and pragmatism

Team Management & People Development

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 12-18 engineers across varying seniority levels
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent
  • Foster a psychologically safe, inclusive, and high-performance team culture

Delivery & Agile Execution

  • Partner with the Product Owner to refine the backlog, set sprint goals, and ensure clear acceptance criteria
  • Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos; remove blockers proactively
  • Own delivery commitments and provide transparent status reporting to leadership
  • Balance engineering debt reduction with feature velocity through disciplined prioritization

Quality & Automation

  • Set and uphold quality standards: unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end test coverage
  • Work closely with QA engineers to embed testing early in the development lifecycle (shift-left)
  • Champion CI/CD pipelines, automated code analysis (SonarQube, linters), and release automation
  • Drive reduction of defect escape rates and mean time to resolution (MTTR)

AI-Assisted Development

  • Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) across the team
  • Establish guidelines and guardrails for responsible, effective AI code generation and review
  • Track productivity gains and code quality outcomes from AI tooling; iterate on practices based on data
  • Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI developer tooling landscape and bring relevant innovations to the team
  • Able to lead with an example by solving complex problems and creating prototypes to pave a path for the unknown areas.

Qualification: -

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role
  • Strong, demonstrable hands-on proficiency with Angular (v15+) and .NET (C#); comfortable reading and writing production code
  • Proven experience managing teams of 10+ engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies; experience working directly with Product Owners in a scrum environment
  • Strong grasp of software architecture principles: microservices, REST API design, cloud-native patterns
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with DevOps tooling (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar)
  • Demonstrated commitment to code quality: code reviews, test coverage standards, static analysis
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and a clear point of view on how to integrate them responsibly
  • Experience with Azure cloud services in production environments
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures or message queuing (e.g. RedPanda, HiveMQ, Azure Service Bus)
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active engagement with developer communities
  • Experience with enterprise-scale Angular applications (module federation, monorepo tooling)
  • Background in regulated or compliance-sensitive industries (FinTech, HealthTech, Buildings etc.)
