Sr. Director Product Lead
We are looking for a creative, entrepreneurial, and customer-obsessed product leader to build the next generation of payments infrastructure. As a Sr. Director Product Lead, you will be responsible for leading a multi-year strategy to reimagine solutions for Visa’s global acceptance clients. You will deliver against our revenue growth goals and champion bold ideas that anticipate shifts in technology and market dynamics.
This leadership role sits within Visa's Value-Added Services organization, managing a key suite of products in the Global Acceptance Solutions portfolio. These products form the foundational layer for global commerce, enabling acquirers, merchants and payment providers to securely and efficiently accept and process payments and worldwide.
This role requires an inspirational people leader who can build a vision, coach, and mentor a world-class team. You will create clarity and simplify operating models, empowering teams to deliver with speed and quality. You will collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners—including technology, sales, marketing and external partners to prioritize customer-centric outcomes and scale adoption globally. The ideal candidate is a strategic systems-thinker with a passion for developing talent and a proven ability to lead through influence in a complex, matrixed environment.
Responsibilities:
- People Leadership & Talent Development: Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing, diverse team of product managers. Create clarity on vision and strategy, hold the team accountable for ambitious outcomes, and strategically staff and resource for key initiatives. Foster a culture of excellence by mentoring talent and simplifying operating models to improve team agility and impact.
- Product Innovation & Strategy: Own and shape the multi-year strategy and roadmap for the assigned product suite. Drive portfolio-level strategies to expand market share, grow revenue, and improve margins.
- Go-to-Market & Commercial Acumen: Shape and lead cross-functional go-to-market strategies that span multiple products and regions. Partner with commercial leaders to define scalable growth plays and guide teams in making commercially sound decisions.
- Communication & Influence: Build buy-in from senior executives with persuasive storytelling that brings to life the customer need and business value. Serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders and communicate effectively with external clients and partners.
- Customer Centricity: Establish and champion feedback loops and customer listening mechanisms across the product lifecycle. Coach the team on how to uncover unmet customer needs and translate insights into product value.
- Operational Excellence: Establish standards and playbooks that enable scale and data-driven decision-making. Ensure alignment across functions while balancing speed with quality.
- AI, Data & Technical Fluency: Serve as a strong thought partner to engineering and data leaders to shape product architecture. Embed AI into the product strategy, establish learning agendas, and lead teams through complex technical trade-off decisions.

Basic Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
- Inspirational People Leadership: Demonstrated experience in attracting, retaining, and developing high-performing, diverse product teams. Proven ability to create clarity, hold teams accountable, strategically staff projects, and mentor talent to grow their careers.
- Product Innovation & Commercial Acumen: A proven record of shaping multi-year product strategies and portfolio-level plans to grow revenue and market share.
- Go-to-Market Thinking: Success leading complex, cross-functional go-to-market strategies to scale adoption and unlock growth across multiple regions.
- Customer Centricity: Deep expertise in customer-centric product development, with a track record of establishing customer listening mechanisms and coaching teams to translate insights into value.
- Communication & Influence: Executive presence and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and influence senior leaders and external partners.
- Operational Excellence & Adaptability: Experience establishing operating models that enable speed and scale, with a history of coaching teams to embrace experimentation and adaptive thinking.
- Technical Fluency & AI Application: Strong technical fluency with experience shaping product architecture and embedding AI into product strategy.
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 183,200 to 400,900 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
