Specialist/ Lead - SCM

Material Planning & Inventory Management

  • Execute MRP runs and validation to ensure accurate material planning and availability.
  • Identify material shortages and allocation issues, and proactively manage supply gaps.
  • Develop and share delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure smooth and timely material flow.
  • Analyze inventory levels using BW reports and initiate corrective actions to optimize stock levels.
  • Maintain and optimize slow-moving, expired, and obsolete raw materials.
  • Drive MOQ reduction initiatives to improve inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage and coordinate with approximately 40 suppliers (Domestic & Import).
  • Track deliveries using ASN, EDI, and ensure on-time, qualitative, and quantitative delivery.
  • Conduct supplier visits and audits to review delivery performance and compliance.
  • Perform regular supplier delivery performance reviews and drive improvement actions.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external networks (SCM, Purchase, Suppliers, Global Teams).

Logistics & Cost Improvement

  • Participate in inventory improvement, logistics cost reduction, CIM, and agility measures.
  • Plan and manage inventory and logistics budgets aligned with business targets.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in inward material processes (measuring, monitoring, reporting, improving).

Cross‑Functional & Global Coordination

  • Support Advanced SCM (ASCM) and cross‑functional teams during new product launches.
  • Coordinate with Global SCM and Purchase teams for global part shortages and allocation scenarios.
  • Initiate ICO procurement in case of direct supplier shortages.
  • Follow up with Customs/EXIM teams for all import–export control and clearance issues.

Operational Excellence & Customer Focus

  • Ensure no delays in response to internal teams and customers.
  • Deliver high-quality performance to meet departmental KPIs and targets.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable material availability and proactive issue resolution.

 

     

      Experience

      • 6–8 years of experience in Material Planning, Supply Chain, or Inventory Management in a manufacturing environment.

      Educational Qualification

      • B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

      Knowledge & Skills

      • Strong knowledge of SAP MM (Material Planning, MRP, Inventory Management).
      • Understanding of product functionalities and applications.
      • Good knowledge of import/export processes and customs coordination.
      • Analytical skills for inventory review and supply planning.
      • Effective communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
      • Continuous improvement mindset (CIM, cost optimization, process agility).
